Certification Mark Guidelines

Certificates arranged through Cetonix are issued by an accredited conformity assessment body. The rules on using the certification mark are therefore set by that body and by its accreditation body — not by us.

What governs your use of the mark

• The issuing CAB’s mark guidelines, supplied with your certificate. These are contractually binding and take precedence over anything on this page.
• The accreditation body’s rules on the use of its accreditation symbol — UAF, SCC, KAB or equivalent.
• ISO/IEC 17021-1, which requires the CAB to control how its mark is used and to act on misuse.

The rules that apply almost everywhere

• Display the mark only for the standard and the scope stated on your certificate, and only while the certificate is current.
• Never apply the mark to a product, to product packaging, or to anything a reader could take as a statement of product conformity. Management system certification certifies a system, not a product.
• Never apply it to test or inspection reports, or to a laboratory result.
• Do not alter the proportions, colours or wording of the mark, and keep the accreditation symbol with it where the CAB requires that pairing.
• Do not imply the accreditation body certified you. It accredited the CAB; the CAB certified you.
• Stop using the mark immediately on suspension, withdrawal or expiry, and remove it from all material including websites, email signatures, vehicles and signage.

Ask the CAB named on your certificate for its current mark guidelines and brand assets. If the certificate was arranged through Cetonix and you are not sure who to ask, send us the certificate number and we will connect you.

Misuse

Misuse of a certification mark or an accreditation symbol is treated seriously and can lead to suspension or withdrawal. If you believe a mark is being misused — by a competitor, a supplier, or anyone claiming certification they do not hold — report it to the issuing CAB and to its accreditation body.
